Sakura

What can I say about Sakura that hasn’t been said before? If you are local then no doubt you have already checked this place out. Southsea’s first ever Japanese restaurant opened about a year ago and has hit the ground running.

And rightly so for several reasons, first of all it was refreshing to see that it wasn’t just another curry house (don’t get me wrong, am all about the rubys, but this is Albert Road….) but not only is the food delicious; the prices are extremely competitive, the service is second to none and it is a great to have independent restaurant being so successful in the heart of our community. Of course there are other options in the form of Wagamamas and Yo! Sushi in Gunwharf but it will take me a bit more than that to tear me away from Sakura.

Not ready to take on some sushi? No problem, they also do ramen noodles, yaki soba, tempura and many many more dishes. On draft they have Asahi and in bottles they serve the truly delicious Sapporo. Situated at the top of Albert Road this is easily one of my favourite places to eat out. Get yourselves down there.
