Right, first and foremost I would like to thank everyone for all the love and interest they have shown SFS over the past year. You all rock and I love you. Onto business, below we have various photos that encapsulates my three days of festivities; Christmas eve, Christmas day and Boxing Day.
First up we have Restaurant 27 on Christmas eve. The food was amazing as per usual, a great treat courtesy of mum. Then just to balance the evening out, pints down the One Eyed Dog afterwards, great so see so many natives return for the holidays.
Next we have Christmas day spent at my dad’s in Old Portsmouth. Prawn and crab cocktail created by the older sister, followed by traditional Christmas meal and nicely finished with a selection of cheese and meats from Lusseau. A brisk walk round The Camber, a spot of Blackadder on the box and we have the recipe for a great Christmas day! I did pretty good on the old present front too. Plenty of foodie and cycling items.
Finally we have Boxing Day. Traditionally my favourite day, can’t beat cold cuts. This year we went to meet our mother in the very scenic West Meon, who is staying with friends of the family Liz and Howard. They have bought a historical old pub called the Red Lion and are currently residing there. The place is amazing! And the bottom half of the establishment is still kitted out as a country pub, complete with games room, beer cellar and gents. We had a whale of a time. I am already looking forward to the mid summer party there next year. Foodwise we were also spoilt, Howard cooked a huge fore rib of beef. It was THE best bit of beef I have ever had. Insanely delicious. The next day we went for a nice walk and a pint in a great pub The Thomas Lord, named after the English cricketer who is buried in the local graveyard. I enjoyed the cricket taxidermy.
And that is it people! Once again I would like to thank you for all the kind words and support over the year. I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
