Whilst at the opening of the Southsea Beach Cafe, I clocked that they were stocking an interesting looking golden ale, however managed to miss checking it out. So you can imagine my surprise (and delight) when Andy from Petersfield based Indian Runner got in contact to kindly offer me some samples of their Premium Golden Ale. My verdict? At 4.7% this is a light, modern and summery ale which I think would be comfortably at home at a BBQ event or curry house alike. A rather pleasant (and slightly unexplained) hint of vanilla wheatiness comes through and before I know it I find myself mentally going though Coriander’s takeaway menu. I would say this would be an ideal choice when introducing stubborn lager drinking friends to ales: nothing to far removed from their comfort zone and with added flavour. Good job Andy, and thank you for sending those in.
