Seasonal Gifts.

On the 1st of September I started in a new position at work, after which I blinked and it was December the 23rd. My past 4 months have been beyond busy in a work capacity, which has left little to zero time to feel any sort of festivity. Until today. My new boss surprised me some some goodies at work (I think the term is “nailed the brief”) and my good friends (and neighbours) April and Dave knocked on my door with a selection of homemade cookies, delightfully presented in a kilner jar complete with a candy can and tag. I feel spoilt. Merry near Christmas all.

It’s great when people know you well enough to get the gifts just, well, ‘right’ isn’t it ? Lovely choices.. Thought your gravy starter looked good enough on its own .. Just a dash of wine and olive oil and a hot oven, then some red wine and good bread .. Voila !
Hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and thanks so much for all the posts through the year .. Much enjoyed and appreciated Charlie. Have a great time.

Hey thanks a lot Dave, and thanks for all the kind words. No doubt you had a rather good gastronomical time dans l’hexagone? All the best for 2015 sir.

Many thanks Charlie and all the best to you and yours … may 2015 be kind and generous to you.
Mainly traditional British fare here this year with the one concession to la belle France being to substitute the turkey with dinde … Much better ! 🙂
