Chiswick is dead! Long live Kingston Upon Thames. Yes, my London home-boy-for-life has traded one leafy part of London for another. Which is totally cool with me; my London pied a terre now has a welcome river vibes about it. On this trip N played to my nautical sensibilities and took me to an area I had been keen to explore for a while: Greenwich. As expected I fell in love with it a tiny bit; history kinda oozes down the streets. Ensconced in it is also the Meantime Old Brewery where we had a seriously good chorizo / chicken / cheese pie and several crisp pints. Outside you could really imagine barrels of exotic goods being brought in and out of the tall ships, and into the bonded warehouse. We also hit up the Greenwich Maritime Museum; a free ,must do, destination for anyone who enjoys seafaring history. It even has some nice areas dedicated to Nelson and Trafalgar, which any pompey native would enjoy.
